The Last Few Seconds…
The Last Few Seconds…
I stood by his side
As he was gazing at me
Tears were rolling from his eyes
The breath was heavy
And the crackling noise
Continued to echo in the room
I pulled the bed a bit high
When the sound started
Echoing fast and the intensity increased
I stretched my hands
And held his hand
With the hope of giving him a comfort
He wanted to tell something
May be many things
But when the tears
Started rolling more profusely
I could not understand the language
I just stood by
With a hope that
The crackling noise will recede
And the breath will become normal
Yes the noise did recede but
Subsided once for all
Even before I could
Wave a sigh of relief
The gripped hand
Fell down
And I was left aghast
As the tears stopped
And the breath eluded.
