The Martyr
The Martyr
Today as he traveled for his final journey,
Alas! A life wiped out only too early!
The nation mourned the loss of a valiant son,
They recalled the bullet from the machine gun!
He had vowed to fight till his last breath,
Saving lives, he bravely fell to his death!
A mother, a wife, a child silently cried,
They remembered his promise ‘Let me go with pride!’
Walking with their heads held high,
The crowd hearing only a deep sigh!
Go on Soldier, we pray for the war to cease,
While you lay in your resting place finally in peace!
