THE NIGHT- By Avik Choudhury
THE NIGHT- By Avik Choudhury
Christmas, a day to celebrate a year's beautiful ending,
But my heart was colder than the surrounding.
I needed somebody to love, somebody to care,
It was heart-wrenching cold and I was crying in despair.
I saw happy faces and warm kisses that night,
I was sad, still captured those beautiful moments in delight.
I was cold, wanted someone to hold my hand, and wanted the warmth of a hug,
Maybe a ray of hope or a bit of uncertainty was my only drug.
All those happy moments which I can only observe but not feel,
I was hoping even after all this my heart would surely heal.
Nature is biased, it's an undeniable fact,
Maybe for me, life was nothing but a mousetrap.
I sat in the middle of the street, slept under the moonlight,
It was freezing cold, but I wanted to live those wonderful moments in my dream that night.
The next day, I saw myself from a distance, People were crying over my body and I questioned my existence.
A chicken is more valuable after its death,
People should always care for and love each other until their last breath.
