The Pain Of War
The Pain Of War
There is more to a story
Then it appears
This is a war written
From blood to tears
Where the poppies lay
Where the bodies decay
People pray
For the loved ones that passed away
They witnessed their men, their buddies
Bleeding and dying
Was this the end?
They walk miles on foot
Losing a loved one on the way
Through dirt, grim soil
Traveling night and day
The journey to sorrow and pain
Left them broken
Still, they walked through sun and rain
Even if they were killed and abused
Will this be the end?
The son which she once knew
Was gone and never to return
The war to the joy and comfort fo him
For freedom, for me and you
