The Wail Of Leaflet

The Wail Of Leaflet

The day came, When I born,

In the heavy froth of cold,

In the amiable tree, I stick,

With all kinds who live with me,

I play and pry and see.

Oh! The bellow of winds!

No hands in my plight,

Leave me my furious wind,

Leave me my valiant wind,

My hope flies far with wings.

I fell and fall in the Earth,

A very awful life has become,

I wept for long times on soil,

No one conscious, no gave boon,

No animal came nor the helping platoon.

Sleazy legs ravaged my beauty,

I peep and peek and peer,

Adorn places to ripe,

But be tacky and parched for long,

An old no more strong.

My Duke! Lend me an inn,

Or soot under my ugly foot,

As no autumn smiled, May since death,

To meet my friends strong or weak,

Among the land to the toppest peak.

"Oh ! My little! How pensive you are!

No more crutches! Nor even charm! "

Slighting my friends, my soul,

Laid my corpse on a pyre near the quay,

And began flying in a long way.
