The Wand Chooses The Wizard

A dad tells her daughter to sow a seed at a community garden,

The little girl checks on the plant until a flower blooms.

Will she ever know it made the seed not look worthless?

A bee lands on the flower that she doesn’t know of.

She had once fluttered out from her home,

Took shelter on hundreds of flowers,

Just to come right back home, wiser.

Will she ever know she helped plants in creating their own?

A young heartbroken singer looks at the little garden

And writes out everything she knows about love.

Will she ever know her words would help a 15-year-old,

A hundred years later?

How significant does this make us when in fact we all are just a tiny dot in the universe?

Time shall float and fly,

And amongst all the “whys”,

I hope we all find our place here.

It took about 18 minutes for Harry Potter’s wand to choose him.

So I hope,

And I wish that,

Once in a lifetime,

maybe for a few hours,

Or just a second,

A month,

Or for a sum total of 18 minutes,

May our wands choose us,

And may we play our parts.

I hope it finds us all.

And I hope we come out well.
