Those Were The Days
Those Were The Days
Those were the days…..
When we used to get up late
No worries of any day and date.
All I love to do was
Mould the clay
And play Gili Danda whole day.
When there was no fear for swinging on branches
And no worries for bathing in ponds.
When writing with chalks was passion
And incomplete HW was no more a tension.
When building a house of cards was a dream
And remember, we’re eating biscuits only for the cream?
Ahh! That big fat smile we used to carry,
When heavy rains protested school from a distance.
When Good Morning was sung as Goooood Morning
And Thank You was sung as Thaaaank Youuuu Teaaacher.
Ahh!! You are singing now too...
And When 2 × 1 = 2 was uttered as Two Oneza Two.
We even had tiny fights while standing in a queue.
And remember, the love of wearing uniform that's very new?
When we had all the lunch that Mumma send
And drank all the juices that Mumma blend.
We never got bored to choose several dresses at trial
Because our Fancy dress competition was at prior.
When white vans were perceived as kidnapper’s van,
And Red car was perceived as the luckiest on land.
When ice cream sticks were used
To make a pen holder
And fevicol, to show that you are as brave as a soldier.
When rainy season was awaited
To make small boats and sail them in water.
And sand was used
To cast the building blocks
As if we were engineer in talks.
Really, how beautiful the days were
How childish we were!!
How transparent we were!!
No worries to pretend just behaved as we were.
Though impossible, but we all wish
If we had Doremon’s Time machine
To visit back those days
Far from the business of loss and gain,
Away from the feelings of grief and pain,
To be that innocent child once again,
To live that good life once again.
And cherish all its beautiful rays once again.
