Where were you before

I was searching for empty sea shells

On a dank sea shore

A puff of joy

And I’m feeling so calm

Everyone’s sinking

So what’s the harm

Where did you go

My heart was dreaming

My mouth was screaming

The smoke and the mist

My ruined life, live streaming

And all the black coats

And the white coats

They looked at me askance

As I led life down

A merry dance

Puff puff puff

The Merry train comes

I get on board

And on it runs

I see orbs

and a blinking light

I got no strength

For another fight

Jump jump jump

Jump Off the ledge

Do you need a nudge

A push on a sledge

Float and float

Go floating down

The whirlpool beckons

Welcome to eternity town

Don’t brother don’t bother

It don’t matter any more

Blowing away in a puff of smoke

The sea leaving the shore

And I stare with glazed eyes

At the incoming life affirming dawn

Weaving and wafting

like a puppet on broken strings

Like a self disillusioned pawn

The dawn has broken

As broken as my soul

As broken as the love

That once held out hope

The smoke has risen and with it

The ruined dashed desires of this wrinkling ageing chappie 

Maybe there will be peace on the other side 

And maybe yes maybe 

I’ll finally be happy
