Nameless
Nameless
Camping by the river on an open fire
Thought with a smile about my hundredth lie
The lie got broken on my hundredth try
For this wrinkle is wrought with a smile
Nameless hours and countless days
I thought of the times I laid to waste
Thought of the words I spoke in haste
Spoke with the tongue of jagged ice
Wishing everyone the best in life
The worst will be over in a breathless sigh
I wonder about the world on the other side
The other side I hide inside
That world is happiness, someone said
Now how could I believe someone undead
Could chant this hope inside my head
My head with the thorns of unshorn lies
A vulture flew in the lonely sky
Bearer of my soul that will never die
Bearer of the hope that I leave behind
Fond memories of a man who tried
I spoke my name and an echo was heard
Came back at me with a different word
I'll live again, said the nameless bird
And the bird swooped down with a nameless cry
