Under the Greenwood Tree
Under the Greenwood Tree
Under the greenwood tree
My winds are eternal, ever free.
Among the cool alcoves
My springs are ever ceaseless.
Nature is dancing in delight
Birds are making pleasantry flights
Here, all around the dale
My fountains forge ahead of all gales.
Here the days and nights are mine
Seasons sing upon my clime.
Feathers I pick up of a living yore
And I gift them to all waking dawns.
I am laid upon here forever
I am caged here forever.
This strip of sky and earth
These winds forever are mine, my very breath.
To the distant clouds, I leave a passing glance.
With the winking stars, I share a throbbing heart.
Rain or shine I am unbound by time.
I am this very nature, back to my own elements.
Under the greenwood tree
My grounds are eternal here.
Beyond the passage of time
I leave upon these dales my solemn vibes.
