Where Is Poverty?

No one will throw money in garbage.

Is this statement true? No!

We throw spoiled milk.

But why it got spoiled?

We throw rotten fruits.

But why it got rotten?

We throw old stored grains.

But why it turned old?

We throw extra food in our plate.

But why it became extra?

Why? Why? Why?

Because we all are hasty buyers.

Don’t term this as panic buying;

These are irresponsible buying.

One end, we are storing and wasting.

Another end, someone is waiting and starving.

Exotic tastes, flavourful dishes, countless varieties

A feast in a grand wedding.

Empty plates, longing eyes, countless days

A man in roadside is starving.

This is the state of our nation

Take responsibility while consuming

Never normalize wasting.

Buy as per the need and help the needy.

Poverty is not somewhere else.

Poverty is there in each and every grain, we waste.
