Why are you unknown?

You may be unknown due to my belief

All along the history of mankind, I have had only a belief in you,

Since you have remained as unknown and incomprehensible always.

Long ago I had imagined about your existence here and everywhere,

And hence I have no other choice but to nurture my belief in you.

I have become aware now that a belief forbids one from knowing you,

As I have concluded with some form, qualities and names for you.

With this conclusion, I have continued to believe in those attributes,

Which, without doubt, look so silly, baseless, dangerous and human.

By having a belief in you I seem to feel secure and comfortable,

And hence I have resorted to worshiping and keeping you pleased.

While worshiping I have never forgotten to pray for health and wealth,

And together I have developed a fear of getting punished for my misdeeds.

By nurturing my belief I have continued to suffer from desires and fear,

But now I have realized the need for freeing myself from all beliefs.

There is an awakening within me that my beliefs had blinded me so far.

Hence I have started understanding myself so that you may become known.
