A Photoshoot Worth Remembering

When I got pregnant, I decided to do a photo shoot for my baby. Little did I know that handling babies was way too difficult. The initial months after the baby’s birth passed by in breastfeeding, changing nappies, dealing with exhaustion, and lack of sleep. By the time I gained confidence as a mother, my baby was a year old. I felt bad for not doing the photoshoot earlier but nevertheless I decided it’s better to do something late than not to do it at all. I found a photographer who was ready to come home for the photoshoot.

The day arrived and I was all set. By the age of 1 year, my daughter Shanaya was already walking. We spent 4 hours to complete the photoshoot. Shanaya is extremely active and very naughty. The photographer was also new to baby photoshoots and mine was the first one that he was doing at the client’s home. The final output was amazing. The picture I have shared in this article is one of my favorites.

This picture is a raw depiction of my daughter’s adventurous nature. Her facial expressions show that although she was only one year old at that time, she was smart enough to plan her next act of naughtiness. She will not sit for a minute in one place and is constantly curious about everything. Shanaya is a very intelligent child. Her interest in books always amazed me. She also started kicking the ball when she was 10 months old. I am not bragging about my daughter. But this picture makes me feel so proud of being her mother. Dealing with her unpredictable and adventurous characteristics is not easy, yet her charm is irresistible. Running behind her is exhausting and protecting her from falls is even more difficult. But her cuteness is enchanting.

Shanaya now walks and plays independently. She loves talking, dancing, and singing. This picture reminds me of the nights I spent worrying about her milestones and it gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Having created a child is the most satisfying emotion a human being can ever experience. Every minute of effort in raising a child is worth it.
