Ajay’s Adventure

One foggy night, when everyone was asleep, two courageous friends crept through the forbidden forest. The forest was shrouded in darkness. The only light that came was from the moon. Astonishingly, the moon was blue in colour. It was then they realized that the moon was dazzling on something ferocious. It had a lion’s face, a tiger’s body, and a cheetah’s legs.

It was a chigon (cheetah+ tiger+ lion). It scowled and howled. They knew what that meant “RUN!” bellowed Ajay. Instantly, they started running as fast as they could. But the chigon was too fast for them. In seconds it caught up with them. The chigon pounced on Vijay, tore out its flesh and gobbled it up like a beggar. Although Ajay was alone now, he did not lose hope. He kept running until he saw that there was not one, not two, but three chigons obstructing all the ways possible. They started to encircle him. Now Ajay had no choice but to surrender himself to the chigons.

Suddenly, the spirit of his dead friend Vijay rose up high into the sky and told him, “Don’t you worry my friend you will be saved. I can give you a moment to run but only a moment. Do you understand?” Ajay nodded his head in reply to his question. “Now!” he shouted. Ajay ran towards one of the chigons and the spirit bursted into sparks and hit the chigons. The sparks blinded the chigons for that instant. Ajay sprinted out of the forest and the chigons had no clue of where he was.

Ajay woke up with a jolt. Sweat was dripping from his forehead. He grabbed for his round glasses that were resting on the wooden table. He scrambled to find the lights. Then it hit him. It was all just a dream! “How foolish of myself!” he thought. Quickly he switched off the lights and fell fast asleep.
