The Aliens had landed and the invasion of this exquisite and idyllic island was going to end life as we know it.

I turned to face this unknown blind stranger and wondered how we were going to survive. Behind us, the swirling, raging stream with its ruthless currents amidst the jagged rocks that destined a certain death !

In front lay a rickety bridge, too small and in pieces, to even contemplate a safe crossing was going to be a real miracle.

He placed his callous hands on my face while trying to compel me to leave him behind and carry on as he thought his inherent disability and his injuries would slow me down.

It was nice to know , there were somethings he wasn't good at , like his inane attempt at hiding his feelings for me.

I smiled wryly, men will be men. Then I placed his arm around my shoulder and took the first step.

A giant leap for humanity I thought, even in these circumstances, the adrenaline rush of imminent danger and confrontation was going to be my Achilles' heel.

Together we lurched towards the Alien force while simultaneously we fired our inter-galactic weapons.

The massive mountain side shattered like flaming glass particles , as we jubilantly rejoiced. Their ammunition ship had been destroyed. But it was only a moment's fairy tale as the thunderous explosion threw us with such magnitude that we fell into an abyss.

The rocks developed a demonic persona of their won as each stuck with proliferating wrath. Finally nature was taking her revenge against the multitude of injustices reaped on her.

Implosion of the gigantic Alien War Ship , evaporated the entire landscape. The nuclear fallout was immense and devastation complete.

The end was nothing short of poetic justice, as the species had been devoured by its own sins!
