Army Brats

She tied her shoelaces and got up from her bed. She turned around to pick her cap. But it was not there. Her father was standing on the threshold holding her cap. He came close and placed it on her head. He took a step back and saluted Jai Hind. Anjali returned the gesture.

Then they turned towards the mirror. They were looking at the reflection of three generations of the family. Anjali, her father and photograph of her grand father on the wall with a garland around it. All donning the same army colors proudly. True army brats.
