It was too much.

She decided to leave this house and just go.

"What would I say, to my parents?" This was a very obvious question she has to be prepared to answer.

"I am lonely. Very lonely in that house. No one talks to me."

Mummy will demand an explanation. "It's your house. Don't I talk daily over the phone?"

"Of course mother will be hurt, but she would not turn me back. Afterall, I am a fifty-year-old woman now and have brought up and established my children. I have sincerely fulfilled my duties. No one has complaints from me. It's a good report card." she judged and approved herself.

"But Papa? He sure would like to know and dig me further. Have I fought? Am I hiding something? He doesn't realize my voice had been long silenced. Long, long back. I won't take risk of arguing with him. I will just say-Anish and Sheena are deep into their studies. Their additional responsibilities which they love and enjoy occupies their spare time. Sanjay already never talked beyond monosyllables to me. It's too much for me to hear him out when he gossips with his office buddies throughout the day." A deep breath escaped.

"I won't tell papa that I am treated just like a housekeeper. Give this, do that, is there any mail? I am late. I have spent the twenty-five years of marriage living with just this talk from my husband.

My in-laws, of course, have fun at my situation. They giggle behind my back.

I won't tell Papa all this. There is no use hurting his feelings. I will just say, I have come back. I will devise some excuse to validate myself further. But I want to go back. Back to where I came from."
