Black And White World

We live in a world where everyone depicts a poem trying to rhyme with the society. Well, here in my world, From the moment we're born, we can only see the world in Black and white. Nobody knows the exact reason as to why and how does one begin to see the colors of life. It is said that whoever starts seeing the colors in their life have a bright future and live happily.

Jennie, a playful personality, was able to see the colors of life in her childhood days. She was a happy, joyous and a cheerful personality. Her confidence in herself helped her reach new heights as a child. She was rich, beautiful, smart and kind. But things started to escalate as matters between her parents started to worsen. They fought on small concerns. Jennie's father became an alcoholic and started abusing her and beating her brutally.

On one of her smallest mistakes, her punishment was to be locked in the dark basement for hours without food or water. She was afraid. She couldn't bear all of this. She started to lose confidence. Her grades started to drop. A once happy and cheerful personality now became dark, afraid and shy. She lost her ability to see the colors in her life. All she could see was darkness. Nothing beyond the darkness. Her parents divorced and she moved to another city with her mom. She was transferred to a new school. She had to move on from the past and start on a new life. Her mom started working a cafe to pay Jennie's school fees. She tried to move on, but her past haunted her like a nightmare. She was stuck in her past and therefore, her future seemed dark.

Somehow in poor conditions, she grew up and became a mature woman. She had many transitions in her life. From a colorful world to a black and white world. From a cheerful personality to sad and shy. She was still holding on to her past. She worked in a publishing company. Her job was to come up with articles/Ideas that would excite other people and would sound interesting. But, her words had no life. She was humiliated by her coworkers and her colleagues. She couldn't take all of it anymore. She carried a load on her head since childhood, she hid her tears from everyone and acted like everything was fine when actually it was not.

She had to move on, no matter what. Since the day Jennie's parents divorced, her mom had never seen her smile. Her mom was now old, fragile and weak. She couldn't even get up by herself and get a glass of water. She didn't have many days left. She wanted to see her daughter smile once before she left, at least once and wanted her to live a happy life and become her old self. Her condition started worsening and the doctor said she only had a week to live. Jennie took a leave from her work and Did whatever she could to make her mom happy. Her mom told her that she doesn't have to do so much to make her happy, she just wants to see her smile. This brought tears in Jennie's eyes. With a blurry vision of her mother who was going to take her last breath, saw her daughter smile and as life slowly left her teary eyes, Jennie was left all alone.

After her mom's funeral, days went by and Jennie decided to start life anew. She let go of her past, woke up with a smile and started her day cheerfully. She wanted to fulfill her mom's last wish, to lead a happy life. She reached office, came up with new articles, where her words seemed like they had a world of their own, her boss, her colleagues, everyone was shocked but happy at the same time. She started looking at life in a new way and restored her confidence and started loving herself the way she used to before. Her dark world was brightened. A new sun had risen. She started seeing the colors of her life. Again. The exact reason to see the colors of life is now obvious. Once you start to love yourself, your life is happy and settled. Only then can you see the colors of life. Because a change in life is mandatory. For if a flower refuses to change, it will never get to bloom.

You need to love yourself to see the bright side of your life.
