It was during our final year of college. The college was getting closed after the final semesters for winter holidays.

We were 5 friends, who planned for a weekend getaway to the nearest hill station, unaware what was coming through our way.

A weekend getaway to the hill station turned into a nightmare. Nestled in the mist-laden hills, promised a serene getaway. But the serenity was shattered when Anil, our friend, fell into a trance, usually so lively, turned withdrawn, his eyes vacant, he started acting erratically, his eyes gleaming with a cruel intelligence. He stayed away from us and frantically expressed his anger, he ripped opened his shirt, tormenting himself to death, he started tormenting others, hurting them with sharp objects, he stabbed himself with a knife and while the others went to attend him, he threw them away with an unnatural power. I could recognize the signs of possession, but how?when?where? the questions drooped into my mind. I was neither an expert nor certified to perform exorsism until then.

Rudra Uncle was the only help I could think of.

Immediately, I travelled 200 kms away from the hill station to my village in my car, Rudra Uncle listened to every piece of information with few silent nods.

We set off for the hill station immediately.

On reaching the destination, we found Anil missing, and one of our friends severely injured while trying to "tame" the dark entity.

The others too had injuries while fighting the strong spirit.

Anil was no where to be found.

Rudra Uncle stood near the door ways, noticed something an ancient jar, which was probably sealed with spiritual threads and spells. The jar seemed to be opened, on intriguing he found the jar stood next to the door, Anil found it skeptical and ripped open the same, Rudra Uncle understood, Anil was the one to set free the dark entity from the jar and now he was after Anil's life.

With the Rudrakhsa in hand, Rudra uncle started chanting prayers, ancient rituals whispered in the dead of night.

The painful wails, the constant whispering, the screams, the tremors, the chilling laughter, the howls of the wolves created a hell situation. But Rudra Uncle was to fight the entity and banish it once and for ever.

Suddenly Anil appeared, trying to deceit everyone with his pains and groans.

I thought of helping, when uncle Rudra stopped me from being deceived, the entity erupted, challenging Uncle Rudra.

But Uncle Rudra had dealt with such situations before, he kept chanting the prayers echoing through the misty hills, until Anil fell with a great thud on the ground and a shadow of mist egressd out of him, leaving a shrilling cry in the chill air.

Anil was freed.
