Childhood days.....

Those days were so beautiful and full of innocence, I like to revive and remember those days again and again.

The games that we used to play with friends. When not started going to school then we play teacher and students game. One person become a teacher by taking one small wooden stick in hand. And taking ' dupatta ' on dress and wear it like 'sari ' also a wall of house become a black board. But when in reality going to school for the first time, first day and sitting there for few hours, with mostly all unknown friends and teacher was like a feeling of getting punishment ..

Also playing a game of running a house, like how we see our parents and elders do. One girl play a role of mother, a boy play father and smaller ones become kids. And to bring small utensils, ingredients. And make food in kitchen, cleaning the house, give food to kids, wash clothes and utensils was all the part of game...but when actually grown up when one has to do all these things in reality then one can understand how difficult it is, but innocence of childhood have no idea about it.

Once in school and in primary class when we don't have to study much then routine is like, in the morning getting up early was so hard, and only mother can tell about this. How she made us get up and get ready for school, and it was like their duty.

After coming back from school meal is served to us by mom, she used to keep everything ready as she had an idea about how hungry we must be. Once we finish lunch, and finish home work...which used to be very little. Then either take rest or while all in the house then, go out with a same age group kid's gang and without anybody's knowledge, to pluck flowers from neighbours garden and make garland for God statues in temple at the end of lane of our house. Sometimes pluck fruits and vegetables, it was truly a fun. If fragrant flowers like ' jasmin ' and others then make garland for self and for ladies at home, to wear on hair.

Before it's evening then, to get ready and gather all friends and to play different kinds of games, or do cycling, running, skipping rope.

Colour colour which colour ( a basic game initially to teach different colour identification for small children ), then hide and seek, games were played as per the age, and depending on how much time we had.

A game with 7 stones and hitting by ball and running away, a handkerchief kept in circle and out of two one has to quickly and smartly take it and run , then game of musical chair . Gulli - Danda, Kho - kho, Kabaddi all purely indian games .

As during vacations, indoor games we used to play in the afternoon sitting in the lobbies or at cool places like a passage on staircase or a small room kind of place on terrace. Like ludo, Chess, playing cards and playing with 5 stones .

With colourful small broken pieces of glass bangles and many more games. also like singing songs, games on city names and names of girls and boys, identifying cinema names by skipping one or more words and so many games .

All these games are necessary to play during childhood to increase information and knowledge, to increase memory power, for physical exercise, to learn team spirits, leadership, quickness, concentration and many such things, beyond reading books . And all these are necessary for each child for their development and this is a right of each child that he/ she gets this happiness in the childhood .

The newer generation and their parents need to understand the importance of open ground games in fresh air, for their children and they should support and encourage the children to be active and playful .

As childhood days is a foundation of our whole life . And it should be lived fully .
