Do I Know You?

Ajay sneaked a look at the gorgeous Shivani who was sitting in the cabinet opposite to him. He had fallen madly in love with her since the day he had set his foot in the office. Three months had flown by and Ajay realized that he was not in a condition to keep his love for her any longer. Ajay was aware that Shivani used to go to a nearby discotheque on every weekend with her friends. He thought it would be a perfect place for them and made plans of opening his heart to her this weekend.

Ajay was watching Shivani furtively for the past two hours at the disco but couldn't muster the courage to do so. By the time it was nearing midnight, Ajay somehow dragged himself to the place where Shivani was seated with her friends.

"Hi! Shivani," Ajay cleared his throat and greeted her.

Shivani smirked at her colleague who was plump, bald, and dressed in plain clothes. She felt embarrassed even to talk to such an ugly creature when her friends were around. She darted her eyes towards him with a contemptuous smile.

"Do I know you?" Shivani said glaring at him that rather sounded as, 'get lost!'

Ajay was heartbroken and left the place without a word.

A month later, their Boss broke the news of Ajay's promotion as the new CEO. It rather came like a bolt from the blue for Shivani. The realization that Ajay was now her new boss, scared the hell out of her. Her cunning brain deciphered that Ajay has a crush on her and she should make the most of it to ensure the prosperity of her career.

The next morning, when Ajay was about to step in his cabin, Shivani sprang up from her chair and flashed a flirtatious smile at him.

"Congratulations, Ajay," Shivani said in a honeyed voice.

"Do I know you?" Came the instant reply from her new boss.

She writhed within as she heard muffled giggles all around her. But all she could do to spit her humiliation out was to grind her teeth in silence.
