Don't Understand

I'm not expecting a gift. I'm not expecting a kiss. However, I don't think it's a big deal for me to expect it to be a decent day. We've been together for a year, today, but the old man seems to be reaching out to cause a fight.

I've locked myself up inside my own inner darkness for over 10 years. I came out of that with minimal scarring, and with a better outlook on life. I had to tell my husband of 16 years that we'll see each other again when I die. I STILL had a pretty decent outlook.

I don't understand why one person will focus on destroying the feelings of another just because the first guy doesn't like his/her life. I don't understand how someone cannot see that their bad attitude and hurtful words can and do affect others. I don't understand.
