You were here, a while ago -

Gliding the callous tips of your fingers,

Along the side of my face,

While I laid there, slumbering with the littlest of serenity;

Yet with a curve of a familiar profoundity tugging upon my lips,

As I felt the fervidness of your touch,

Soaking up those cold insides of mine,

But then those rays of the blazing sun got in the way,

Biting through the lids of my eyes,

Until they fluttered open hurtfully,

And until you were yet again rendered -

To another figmentation of this blankly numbed mind of mine,

That still hadn't forgotten to sway along with the iteration,

Of all those memories that had once been craved, into every nook of it By that presence of yours.

You were here, a while ago -

Fanning the base of my frigid neck,

Ardently with those breaths of yours,

While the seamless heaving of your chest,

Flawlessly synced with those beats,

Of my heart pounding against my ribs,

But then that very heart skipped a beat,

As a repressed ache bolted across its chambers,

Until the old barely mended cracked resurfaced,

Bleeding ceaselessly with those voids left behind,

By your absence, and until,

You were rendered to yet another figmentation -

Of this naive heart that still hadn't learned,

To thrum without concurring to those heartbeats of yours.

You were here, a while ago -

Laying right beside me flat on your back,

While your fingers tiptoed,

All the way towards those of mine,

Halting in the midway for a split second before,

Effortlessly fitting amid those gaps between my fingers,

And resting right there with a serene tenderness,

But then, one of them must have twitched,

As every other finger of mine began to writhe and wrench,

Until all of them succumbed to the uncanny numbness,

Devoid of any chance to meld into your flesh one more time,

And until you were rendered to yet another figmentation -

Of this fingers of mine still hadn't ceased,

To seek hither and thither only to hold -

That hand of yours and never let it go.

You were here, a while ago -

Snaking those arms of yours around me,

Pulling me closer to you while I kept,

Leaning onto you with the urgent need,

To snuggle into the warmth of your embrace,

But then I felt your grip loosening bit by bit,

Until I tossed and turned to reclaim it back,

Discreetly trying my best to escape the coldness,

That relentlessly draped around me with every second that elapsed,

And until you were rendered to yet another figmentation -

Of this being of mine that still hadn't gotten used to,

The lack of your presence as it continued to breathe and live.

You were here, a while ago -

Gazing at my disheveled sleeping state,

With admiration in those brown orbs of yours,

While I hopelessly inhaled your fragrance,

At times furtively, at times unabashedly,

But then the unknown stench with a semblance of heartache,

Reigned all over me, far and wide,

Until every fiber and flesh that enshrouded the very core of my soul,

Yearned solely to be once again vivified in that company of yours,

And until you were rendered to yet another figmentation -

Of this self of mine that still hadn' t come about to accept,

That you were gone, for now, and forever.
