He is everything for me. He is my “Mitan” (Friend) as per local tradition. We decided to be lifelong friends with holy deep in Ganga River. I won’t work now, I told my boss. He has come. Let us go to same place. Yes. We went to the open fields. We repeated the same stereotype memories which have been shared several times too.

Our hut was Calm and quite place, surrounded by greeneries all around, a tube well and a pond. We did fishing first and then cooked basmati rice in the same place and had great repast, satisfying hot rice and fish curry. He is very fortunate to have a good looking, highly educated wife and two kids. I am blessed with two son and a daughter. What is common among us that we stay almost alone? Children are grown up and they stay at different places. So, the best day and time for us is when you meet your Mitan. We are having similar feelings about our better half and children. I told him you are the only one who understands me. I want to leave now. He was amused! What, why so early. You have not yet retired. I narrated an incident which I have not disclosed to anyone earlier.

She is still waiting for me. I am in dilemma. 15 yearrs ago, during my tenure as Social worker, in Arunachal Pradesh, I met her. A typical tribal girl with distinct features, snubbed off nose, round face and fairly reddish complexion. I got carried away by this combination of pristine beauty. I have deep feelings that keep on striking the codes giving me an impression that she still loves me. My friend replied gazing with his grey eyes and strongly told me that it was foolish to go back to Arunachal. In support of his statement he shared his experience of having two wives and the problems he has to face and he admitted that he had lost attraction in both the women and enjoys the time spent with me fishing and relishing fish curry and basmati Rice.
