Gratitude

Gratitude

Good morning! I said to my room after an eternity. As I woke early today, mom helped me to filter the water. She skipped her tea to prepare breakfast for me. I didn't stop her despite knowing she can get a migraine attack by doing so. I was about to leave for the seminar. She handed me a lunch box, dried snacks and a bottle. Wished me her warm blessings even before I could touch her feet. I barely passed a faded smile and left home.

A security guard opened the gate, and I nodded thankfully. Was facing a tough time finding the vehicle. A stranger noticed and stopped his ride in between. I appreciated him zillion times. Reaching the venue, organizers welcomed me cheerfully so I shared gratitude with them. From the beginning till the end, the team handled it very efficiently. They definitely deserved a pat. When I was about to have the meal, someone asked me to join them. I thanked them for accompanying me.

While returning home there were disputes on the road. Despite the heated-up scenario, the auto driver dropped me safely, I was deeply obliged. Security was busy with other work but watching me coming, he ran to press the lift button. I thanked him for not making me wait.

I arrived late. Still, before pressing the doorbell, my sister opened the gate. As soon as I changed clothes, fresh food was in front of me. One by one chapati and other items were being poured onto my plate. I was filled till my neck with a divine taste. Yawns were secretly sending messages to rest. I was all out in no time on the sofa. When my eyes opened, I was lying on the bed wrapped in a warm blanket. Mom handed me hot coffee and I was back to work.

Conclusion

When we step out, we are thankful for every tiniest effort. But when the same is done by our family we don't even recognise it. Why do we take them for granted? Aren't they humans? Or just because we stay under one roof they hold less importance? On the contrary, if they fail to deliver a single duty we yell like monsters. Why so? Who are they, please tell.
