I saw you across the hall, laughing with people I undoubtedly knew I‘d never be friends with because I was not cool or fancy enough. That was the first time I saw you. I remember neither the day nor the date though, but that truly does not matter for I never considered remembering such details an act of attachment or deep affection. Instead, I regard remembering the look you had on your face and how instantly it changed mine as a lasting trace of what we almost had. It felt as it was about to rain inside, as if the raindrops somehow clustered and settled around my heart to somehow always remind me that it hurts, looking at you hurts and will always do.
