Happy Birthday, Son!

"Though we couldn't afford to present you a gift on your birthday every year, that year we were able to push the boundaries. Your father bought your favorite bike to present to you. I still remember counting the money we saved and feeling proud of that! Your father, somehow, managed to adjust the remaining amount. We checked in into many automobile showrooms to get the unique shade of your favorite bike and finally could do that!"

"When you won the gold medal in your college, I still remember, your father bothered a lot that he couldn't present you a gift at that glorious moment; I too felt very happy, at least, I could prepare some delicious food for you and your friends. That night, he was not confused to be happy for your successor to be sad not for appreciating it enough; he was obviously sad."

"It was only a few years, we are financially stable. When we were not, both of us used to work till late hours. I couldn't answer you this when you asked me the reason for my late-night sleep. All that I could do was just to smile at you and embrace you."

"When you joined the hostel for studies and stayed out of house for the first time ever, you cried a lot. You just know that instance. Reaching home, we felt so alone that it took a week to get used to your absence. But we firmly know that you will be back home after college or during the holidays. At least, I was busy with the home-making-things. But your father preferred to stay out of home unless he sleeps."

"You are the symbol of our love. We are your parents. We accept you unconditionally and our love for you is unconditional. When you were born, we imagined a better world for you, and we strove our best to do so. Doctors always tell to carry the baby only left side. Because they are used to feel a mother's heartbeat from months and all the earthly sounds could possible disturb them from sleep. Every mother's giving-better-world-to-child starts from here. Whatever may be the reason, you shouldn't have done this, son. I wish a very happy birthday and I wish you were here", said the mother with eyes full of tears; for which she hasn't heard her son's heartbeat for the past five years.

The father, who was listening to her words behind the door, couldn't hold the pain anymore and broke into tears, as his son's birthday gift, "Happy birthday, Son!"

Our life does not belong just to us. Say no to suicide.
