How Birds Got Their Colors?

Once upon a time, all the birds were white in color. As birds sit on the trees or fly, the birds could be easily caught by the hunters. So one day, all birds held a meeting about what to do. So the eagle suggested that they must go to Lord Ganesha for help. Then they all reached the place where Lord Ganesha lived. When Lord Ganesha appeared in front of them, they told that Oh Lord! Please help us to give beautiful colors! As we all don’t have colors, the hunters can easily spot us and kill us.

Lord Ganesha understood everything and helped them. The first one was the parrot. He said, “I want the color similar to the leaves and red color for my beak as my favorite food chili is also red in color”. Lord Ganesha was having many colors and gave him Green and Red. The same happened with all the birds. When the Crow saw them he asked them how did the get the colors. One of the birds told that Lord Ganesha is having many colors and is giving those colors to the birds. So the crow went there and there were less colors left so Lord Ganesha mixed all the colors and gave him black color. When the Swan saw the Crow he said “Oh! What color! I have not seen such an ugly color!” The Crow said that “It’s ok if I have got the black color, but what about you? You don’t have any colors! The Swan realized his mistake and is having only white color.

Morale of the story is “Think before judging others. First, look at yourself”.
