It Haunts'

It was the beginning of the Scary-October when the real-scary-incident took place...

Young girl named 'Mia Evans' is currently 22 years old, however she is a wonderful, serene, introverted girl. She is a web designer and does most of her work from home, and she is without a doubt excellent at what she does. However, she doesn't have many friends other than the two... 'Tessa Mares' her house-mate who also works but in a different company, and 'Harry Smith', a co-worker. All the three are very close friends. 

Mia was satisfyingly-happy in her small life until and unless she started experiencing some nightmares but still they were fine; as long as they weren't becoming true... 

For the past three days, Mia has been working at night and sleeping during the day because, strangely, that is when she doesn't get any horror dreams that leave her existence haunted. These nightmares started a few days ago, and even though they aren't the same every time, she tends to forget them but they are still so terrifying that she almost fears to sleep.

"Hello Mia."

"Hey, Tessa it's already 12 am; aren't you coming home?"

"Yes, that's really why I called you; I have some work tonight that I need to finish in the workplace till tomorrow morning, so I won't be able to come home. Thus, take caution and avoid sleeping to prevent having a further nightmare."

"Oh, alright bye."

Mia is still working alone in the house at almost three in the morning. Absolute quiet across the entire home... The lights are out in the living room and kitchen, and Mia is in her bedroom upstairs. Her room door is open, and Tessa's room, with its door closed and lights off, is just in front of her. Mia went into the kitchen to grab another cup of coffee since she was feeling sleepy. She turned on the lights and was preparing her coffee when she peered out the kitchen window, but nothing was visible because her backyard was completely dark. But as soon as she heard something, like her television seemed to turn on at that very moment. She hastily grabbed her coffee and headed to the living room, where she noticed the TV was on. As she cautiously moved further, she noticed something was seated on the sofa. Startled, she put the coffee mug down on the dining-table and checked. The lights went out across the entire home just as she was ready to view the creature's face. Mia was taken aback... She hurriedly found a candle to light in the darkness, but as she was ready to do so, the matches failed to ignite the candle, and then it did. Suddenly, in the same instant, Mia saw a really creepy bloody face that was so completely covered in red that the only feature embarked on the face was its terrifying, witchy eyes. As the thing screamed loudly in front of Mia in a strange, raving voice, Mia started to run but fell, and the terrifying thing grabbed her leg and pulled her into the dark. 

When Mia opened her eyes and her nightmare was over... She was miserably-horrified seeing that face, all sweated-up and with fast breathing she was awaken in the morning at 7 am on her bed, inappropriately...

When she eventually finished her bath, she saw some red markings on her leg. As if someone had actually taken her leg off... She was forced to reflect because, as usual, she can't recall anything from last night and that was only a dream. There was still a cup of coffee on the table as she astonishingly descended into the living room. Which again made her think was that really a dream...?

After a while, Tessa arrived, and Mia chose not to tell her about the nightmare because she was afraid Tessa would become concerned. However, the thing was scuttling around in her mind. 

The following night, it was almost 3 am and she was dedicatedly working whereby she just streched her body by sitting on the chair for relaxing and just closed her eyes for some deep breaths... After two deep breaths when she was taking the last one she heard someone calling her whole name just as somebody with the same voice that came to her dream, just slowly giving her goosebumps despite the fact that she was all alone and awake in that room... When Mia opened her eyes there was nobody's presence other than her and when she checked herself in the mirror there was a tiny scratch near that ear... She was flabbergasted...

The next day, Mia ran into Harry at a coffee shop. She didn't tell him about anything that had happened to her recently, and they had a nice conversation about work before he told her about his sister's haunting last year. He described it to her as a terrifying true story, saying that she was literally cursed and probably possessed, but that she was fighting it with her body and control. Eventually, she traveled to the second world and fought the spirits there, using her mind rather than her body to win her soul back.

"I don't really want to believe this, and I don't really have a good reason to tell you this, but when I saw her fully transform from a possessed stage to a human stage, it was truly something unusual, and for that reason, I do believe that there is something that exists and that cannot really be described, but once you see it, you'll never forget it..." said Harry.

Mia was covered in goosebumps all over. The conversation made her ponder deeply. 

Mia then left for home. That night, Mia was unable to concentrate on work, so she decided to take a stroll in her garden at nearly eleven p.m., while Tessa was in the kitchen completing some tasks. As they were returning to their stuff, Mia noticed Tessa while she was walking by and grinned. Tessa, in turn, grinned back at her. At that moment, Mia noticed that her room above had the lights off, but that something was there—two white eyes staring at her—so dark that she was only able to make out those eyes. And she bolted for her room after being startled. But when she entered switched on the light by going near the window spot she saw nothing... She looked around her room and saw nothing, so she was startled to hear someone knocking on the door. She was shocked to discover that the sound came from her cupboard and moved cautiously in its direction. After carefully opening the cupboard door to see what was inside and that there was nothing within, she noticed something above the cupboard. The same terrifying creature she had seen in her dream assaulted Mia and sprung at her, yelling loudly. Mia was screaming uncontrollably as well, but her dream abruptly stopped when she woke up from her bed. 

 Now she still don't how any idea about how she ended sleeping and waking up at 6 am in the morning on her bed adding when she is watching something creepy in her dream, that thing attacking; how come she is getting those attack-marks in her real life...?

This time, Mia told Tessa and Harry everything. After talking with them, they advised her that dreams frequently come to people who are actually holding something at the moment. It was as if something from her past had suddenly surfaced and, unlike previously, she was harboring misgivings about it. They told her that those regrets are so intense that they invite negative things and the rest... So she has to let go those things which was the actual fact...

Actually a month prior, Mia discovered a box in her backyard that had been lodged in the ground for a considerable amount of time. She discovered it when organizing some stuff. When she opened the box, which appeared to be quite old and filthy, she discovered something inside. A few photos of her younger brother, who passed away from illness at a very young age... And for some reason, after looking at those photos, some letters, and the parallels, she concluded that she was the reason he died rather than any illness. She cried a lot that day and went without food for two days. However, over time, she began to occupy herself with work so that this notion would not bother her, but she was nevertheless thinking about it everyday.

Now Mia told that thing to Harry and Tessa but with an incomplete story; so Harry said that lets do a 'Astral Projection'. Now this is basically an out-of-body experience that involves the consciousness traveling out of the body toward a spiritual plane or dimension. In short the body stays in the place but through spiritual power the soul travels to another world...

Mia was completely surprised by this thing like it existed and Harry knew it... 

Where Harry said, "I learned this during my sister's possession..."

Mia, Harry, and Tessa made the decision to get together at Mia's house tonight to carry out this activity.

Time went by, and before long, night fell... Harry and his sister "Lacy" got to Mia and Tessa's residence at eleven p.m.

Then, while seated in the room, they all began the astral projection. After talking with Lacy in solitude, Mia entered a deep meditation. With the aid of a metronome, she was able to feel peaceful and at ease while taking deep breaths. And Mia fell into a deep sleep that transported her to another realm. 

When Mia opened her eyes, all dark there and just one lit candle on the table next to her and she was in the middle of nowhere. She picked up the lamp and continued forth; the atmosphere was eerily still and full of chilling waves.

When she woke up, she saw her room, which was deserted when she entered. However, before continuing, she noticed something in the mirror: she could not see herself since she understood she was a soul. Later, she noticed her cupboard open in the mirror, which was closed when she turned around. She then moved closer to the cupboard and opened it, and when she did, the same terrifying thing from her dream attacked from above, but after a moment it disappeared... Mia was freaked out... Then somehow she managed to move ahead in the other room which appeared from nowhere all of a sudden. Mia went inside gradually and saw a small boy who appeared to be her younger brother, as well as what appeared to be a child's room with toys and a small bed. Mia spotted him laying on the bed. After a fight, Mia's stepmother entered the room and poisoned her child's meal when he was asleep. She whispered, "You're not my child so you don't deserve to live this happy, I want my daughter to be happy." And she made him eat it and later through it he died, when Mia got to know this she was shocked and broke-hearted. So, she was about to move out of that place and was searching for those pictures and those letters kept in that box whereby that stepmother wants to take Mia with her; she attacked Mia in a really creepy manner with blood flowing from her mouth and her witchy white eyes and long hair... Mia ran, still she caught Mia's leg... Mia was crying and screaming whereby somehow she ran from it and then she found that box and burned that box with her candle and cried and said loudly,

"It's not me, Valerie Meyers; you are the one who killed my beloved brother!! THAT'S YOU! Thus, STOP HAUNTING ME! Because now that you're a witch, you owe no one in this world any love!!"

And all vanished... Mia came back to her body... Lacy gave her a hug as she started to cry.

Everything returned to normal. Also, Mia's nightmares stopped as she forgived herself and THE END.

In the end what we learn is, "No matter how big or small is the mistake you made, if you're honest to yourself you'll get a regret but it doesn't mean you're a mistake, so forgive yourself... Because at a stage everybody's past, it haunts."
