IYER PART-5

Suddenly, I heard a voice calling my name, "Indra, Indra." I turned around to see Maa Jagadamba standing near me. She bore an uncanny resemblance to my mother. She reassured me not to be afraid, to focus on the ball, clear my mind, and concentrate solely on the ball.

I focused solely on the ball, and with determination, I successfully defended the kick. Rahul and his team erupted in shouts of joy. It was a friendly match, but it marked the first victory for our ashram. The boys from the ashram lifted me onto their shoulders and paraded through the entire community, proudly proclaiming our triumph. I expressed my gratitude to Maa Jagadamba for guiding me and pleaded with her to grant me another day so that I could continue enjoying my time playing with the boys.

During 4 Years , my mother never came to visit me. However, Maa Jagadamba would visit me daily, showering me with utmost love and care. In the ashram, she provided me with a sense of security, appearing before me whenever I felt fearful or sensed the specter of death. I never felt the absence of my mother as Maa Jagadamba filled that void with her boundless affection.

Ram Muthy, an atheist, smiled skeptically and remarked, "Maa Jagadamba, huh? Alright then, ask her what the outcome of our mission will be."

Iyer: I asked Maa Jagadamba about the outcome, and she conveyed that it would not be in our favor. However, Ram Murthy, firm in his atheism, dismissed his response,

Ram Murthy:there is no god and that people like you, the weak ones, relied on faith for assistance.

Although some of battalion soldiers disagreed with him, being a person of influence and their commander , no one dared to argue with him.

Ram Murhty: Did you Mother ever come to visit you again

Once, while we were playing football, I sprinted towards the goal and scored. My teammates embraced me in celebration. The doctor witnessed this and was astonished at how someone with lung cancer could run so swiftly. The following day, he took me to the hospital and conducted several tests. To everyone's surprise, my cancer had completely disappeared. What do you make of that, sir? When the doctor had given up, it was Maa Jagadamba's blessing and my will to live every day to play football that sustained me."

The news of my miraculous recovery soon reached my mother. She visited me at the ashram and took me back home. She was relieved and overjoyed that I had survived. However, my sister was unhappy with my return, and even I felt a tinge of sadness leaving behind the ashram. Nevertheless, I found solace in the fact that I would now be living with my mother from that point onward.
