     The was a boy named Shantiveda. He was very kind to everybody and even generous. As he grew big, he married. He and his wife remained were still being kind and generous. No one left their house empty-handed. So, Shantiveda ran out of money and his family had to stay hungry for months.

     One day, he managed to get some rice, ghee, oil, and some vegetables. His wife cooked delicious food. When they sat down to eat. A holy man knocked at          their door. He asked for some food as he was had an empty stomach. Shantideva offered him a seat and served him half of the food that he had. Then, the man      went away satisfied.

    Now there was half of the food left. Shantideva said, "God is so kind, we still have half of the food left." When they sat down to eat, a man with two dogs knocked at their door. He said that his dogs are very hungry. So, Shantideva gave all the food that he had. "Ohh, God is so kind, we have little water left." Said Shantideva's wife.

    Just then someone knocked at their house. The man asked for water because he was dying of thirst. Shantideva gave him all the remaining water that he had. Just then, the man who asked Shantideva for water, Appeared Lord Bramha, The Lord of creation. He told Shantideva, That all the gods had come to test Shantideva. Lord Bramha gave food and water to Shantideva's family and some money for their expenses.

Still, Shantideva and his wife remained kind and generous to everybody.
