Once upon a time, there was a beautiful female crane living alone near a lakeside. She was white in color with tall legs and had a slim and slender body. She was very beautiful in her appearance and gestures. Many other birds living near that lake like the crow, owl, woodpecker wanted to make her their friend. They used to roam around her for which she was feeling herself the most beautiful creation of this universe and was always much proud of her beauty. The crane had the habit of showing off her beauty and insulting those birds because of their dark color. She also used to insult several other female birds and show her superiority over them. This was the reason that the other female birds were not liking the crane, nor, the crane was bothered by them. One thing she was always cherishing was that she is the most beautiful and she does not require anyone else in her life. The whole world is behind her and she should be happy and proud of that.

One day, that beautiful female crane was drinking water from the lake. Suddenly, she observed that several crows were running behind someone on the other side of the lake. She also saw that male woodpeckers and owls were also coming towards that side of the lake. She wondered why they were not looking at herself? To see what exactly is happening over there, she went to the other side of the lake. After reaching there, she was shocked as well as angry to see the scenario. She saw that there was a sweet, small,  fair bird, extremely white in color with glowing golden lips floating on the lake. The male birds were calling her duck and were running behind her for friendship. That sweet little duck was happily responding to her new friends with sweet words, sweet gestures and acknowledging them with good manners. Looking at this, the crane got so jealous of the duck. She got angry and started throwing stones at that duck. The new friends of the duck could not tolerate this kind of behavior towards their sweet friend, so, they started throwing back those stones towards that crane. The crane got severely injured and returned back home. As she had no good relationship with anyone, no one came to help her. After being hurt with stones, she also lost her beauty which was her pride.

After some time, the duck told her friends to look after the crane as she is living alone. Initially, no one agreed but with the sweet words of the duck, they all together went to the crane's house. The crane was crying silently, blood was oozing out from her wing, body and legs. She was not even able to stand properly. The duck and all her friends started cleaning her wound. They also prepared food for her and made her relax. Seeing all these, the crane could realize her mistakes. She apologized to everyone for always insulting them, showing her superiority over them and never being friends with them. She also thanked them for being kind and helping her even after she was always been rude to them. All birds smiled at her and now all birds along with the crane started living as a family at the lake.

MORAL OF THE STORY- Do not be jealous, do not feel proud. Always be happy with what you have been blessed with.
