Mankind At Stake

Mankind At Stake

As a child, I always wondered, the purpose of the existence of different religions, races, castes and creed; the reason why some are fair and some dark, while few chosen ones are rich and many others poor.

I often had this talk with God, “Lord, why didn’t you create one religion, one class and why this inequality across the world.” Well! I was too young to understand that it’s a utopian concept to wish for.

Cut to today, while the entire world is reeling under the effect of Corona and the virus is treating everyone equally irrespective of caste, creed, religion . You just need to be a human – it ain’t know any difference.

No matter how influential you are, how rich you are or how beautiful you are – the bitter and hard truth is that the entire mankind is at stake.

And a welcoming change that this pandemic has brought about is the language everyone is talking in – the language of empathy, concern, and care.

I had friends calling me to check if I needed something, cousins calling me to check if I needed help, onsite team members telling me, “Stay safe” whose earlier conversations were strictly limited to work. As the Upanishad states, “Vasudhaika Kutumbhakam” – the entire world is one family. It REALLY has become one now.

Heart-felt thanks to all the volunteers who have taken up a humungous task to help communities. Big thank you to the policemen who are making sure the city is actually under lockdown. And last but definitely not the least, a big salute to the health care practitioners who are out there in the frontline braving the corona and saving people.

While I know all of us are being patient and waiting to see the end of this, but let’s not forget to be considerate and help our fellow beings by extending a helping hand, loving words and bring a smile on their lips.

Praying that God gives all of us the courage to face this pandemic and emerge stronger.

#Stay home #Stay safe
