Mummy, it's getting late. They will deduct my half day salary if I am late for more than three consecutive days. Why don't you understand it.

The morning prayers on the old radio began as she started started narrating their tale for the nth time. Its their routine to blame each other for being late. Though the mother and daughter wake up at early morning, the last few minutes will be chaotic followed by the smiling goodbye standing in between the balcony and the main road.

Megha, a young writer and a teacher loves her thirty children next to her parents and one way to symbolise it is her 100%attendance record with four to six late goings. She is a good observer and a pot of love.

With love its easy to melt her, her colleagues says.

As she stepped out and looked up to wave her mother, her dad pulled out the footrest on both the sides of his bike. She sat comfortably and he adjusted the mirror to check if she has had applied kumkum and sandalwood paste.

I have applied daddy, she said noticing his looks.

Did you take the umbrella dear, he questioned back.

No daddy, I am sure it won't rain, she said and the next second one drop fell on her square shaped spectacles making her vision unclear.

A storm alert is been announced and it will rain, he explained.

I wish I get the bus soon daddy, she said cleaning her specks with the dupata.

Pom, Pom,

Bus daddy.

Be safe ma, he said and bid goodbye taking an u-turn.

As she stepped in and managed to settle in the window seat, she looked at her cousin who was looking furiously at her.

Hi, she said.

Late!!

She giggled shamelessly.

Why didn't you wake me up, she asked.

I did but you didn't picked my call.

Ohh, do you have an umbrella?

Oh yes, I always have it in my bag, he said with pride as if he had finished a 21 marathon!

I am going to get wet, she wrote on the glass

window covered with rain droplets.

You enjoy these little little things, he said admiring her in the corner of his eyes.

I like rainy season and I love the people who love to get wet, she added.

Coffee, books and a warm bed is perfect for this weather she expressed.

Do you know the difference between climate and weather.

No, he said interested to learn new things from the teacher.

Whatever she knows she shared her knowledge with him.

Climate is referred to the seasons. Such as summer, rainy, winter, autumn whereas weather means everyday's atmospheric conditions.

Okay teacher madam, he replied holding her hands.

What happened?

Do you feel cold? she asked with concern.

You're too fragile, eat more, he replied back.

The journey continued in silence.

As they reached their stop, he lend his umbrella to her and went running to catch his cab.

She looked at him with awe and walked little further to her school main gate.

Few of her children were walking in alongside and immediately she shared the umbrella with them!

In the green eco campus surrounded by trees and flowering plants, a group of children walked forward splashing the water and talking in merry. The sight looked beautiful and megha freezed this memory in her heart to remember it longer!

Once they entered the classroom, her dupata was transformed into a towel and she wiped each' ones head and opened the windows to let the fresh air come in.

The sky was dark and gloomy but inside the green cubicle laughter and giggles were high in volume.

The classroom engagement was fun and when the day came to an end, he was waiting for her at the usual stop. The rains have stopped and she lingered to munch pani puri.

He took her to a nearby shop and as they munched four plates of pani puri, the waiter gave them their bill.

As it was her turn today, she unzipped her school bag and to his suprise the umbrella was in a pathetic condition.

Don't you know how to tie a umbrella, he asked.

No was her instant reply.

In two minutes he tied it perfectly and she looked at him with wonder!

How to do this, teach me na she said!

As soon as she reached home, her mother took her saree end to wipe her hair. From her father to cousin to her children to her mother - episode of love!

Diary of Indra, the rain god, who witnessed these scenes standing above all!
