Moon - A Lurking Shadow?

Moon - A Lurking Shadow?

I was pondering on the lanes of Dadar, with my bike sharply flowing through the uneven streets in the blinds of midnight. The clock struck 12 as the moon stood high on the solemn sky.

Eyeing it in the midst of towering trees and the branches fluttering in the dark sky leaving a sharp tunnel for the moon to be visible.

As a child, I would always adore stealing the glimpses of the divine moon under my blanket as I acted out falling in deep sleep.

I bred a silly belief that the moon would trail my path as it chased my car and I loved the sensation of a die-hard fan secretly following me.

On birthdays, I would stare at the dark sky at midnight and make three wishes which always, somehow managed to get fulfilled.

Today, that nostalgic wave of memories hit me as I once again cherished those moments of sheer joy which were lost under the blanket of shining, but fake stars and artificial street lights who remain with you only till the time you are darting, not completely forlorn, with a shadow.

But, the moon, who is just a lurking shadow of the ball of fire, manages to stand bright even in the darkest hour, even if it is all alone. Just to brighten your path and lighten your heart. Just like a true friend, who may not be there to share your echoes of loud laughter, but will always be there to lend a shoulder for you to pour out your tears and your heart.
