Mother and Child

   

  Every child has a right of good care in his formative years. Otherwise the child's personality does not develop. I know a story about the maltreatment of a person with his wife and little girl. In such atmosphere how the child's personality will develop?

   Rekha was married with a person Who was in private sector. It was an arranged marriage on the basis of an advertisement in a Newspaper. But it turned out a problematic marriage Rekha was pregnant soon, but her husband ignored her and took no care of her. She was in trauma, all her dreams of sweet successful marriage were shattered. All her Mills and Boons dreams were nowhere. There was hard reality.

   Seven eights month of pregnancy passed without any care and in great pain. Ultimately she wrote to her mother that she want to come there for delivery, otherwise they should never see her. 

   Her mother moved with this pathetic letter. Her father went there and somehow was successful to bring her daughter with her, though daughter's husband was reluctant to send her.

   In a Nursing Home delivery was done. It was Caesarian delivery. There Rekha' husband came himself for a short time,made tantrums and Went away. Rekha was again broken hearted.

     When child was one- month old, Rekha's husband called her and she had to go. There she lived for one year, But her life and child' life was miserable there. Her husband used to awake the child when she was in deep sleep and the child used to weep. At last Rekha could bear no more. She was well educated. She decided to take up a job and become independent. She came to her parents and took a job.

   Her mother used to take care of the child. This way one and half year passed. The child girl was now two and half year old and a pretty child.

  One day Rekha's husband came there and stole the little girl and fled, leaving his shoes there, so that no one could locate him early.

  What trauma little girl got! She did not know the man who took her to another city by stealing her secretly.

    Rekha' father went to Rekha's in law's house. There was the baby. With great difficulty he  took the child back.

  Now the child was very much terrified.

It should have been a Police Case. But no such step was taken in the hope that situation will be controlled. But it was becoming worse.

  Rekha went to another city with the baby on her job. She took care of the baby along with her job. But the child was terrified and could not regain peace and confidence. She used to weep bitterly. When Rekha's parents used to meet her, child longed to go with them and on their departure used to weep continuously .

   What could have been done ? Rekha used to say-" Do not mind, after crying she will be silent herself ."

  In such atmosphere the little girl grew up. What we can expect in such a situation. No good rearing in childhood. It will have far reaching effect. What could be done. We can only pray God.But Rekha took the courage and brought up the child single handedly, and fulfilled her all the aspirations.
