My first trip without my parents was to a scout camp in Shimla. We volunteered for that camp from our school. There was a total of 18 students from our school including me and my elder brother and our PTI sir along with a scout trainer and a guide trainer as well.

we reported at school at 8:00 pm and around 8:15 we were seated in the bus ready for Charbagh station. when we were on our way to Charbagh railway station, we encountered a very long traffic jam around 1.5 km away from the station as we were getting late we decided to walk till there. Luckily we caught our train on time the next day around 11-12 noon we reached Chandigarh station.

We spent some time there had lunch and all and waited for some students from Chandigarh wo were also there for that camp. Then we caught our train for Kalka station and we spent the night there as we had our train at 5 am. then we took a toy train and then bus and finally we reached our camp it was down the road on a cliff with sheltered temporary houses and some training ground and an open dining area.

We had some tea and bread and then after resting for some time we left for tracking. it was exhausting but interesting we saw how people lived in the mountains, drank naturally chilled mountain water and many more things. Then we finally reached the top and there was a temple, we first did darshan of gods and then we got seated for the bhandara. After eating we started going downwards we saw a scout/guide office where scouts and guides from various parts of the country were there some were State level like us some National level scouts and Internation levelled too.

While returning we got short of water and felt thirsty but a local offered us water and sharbat. we thanked them and reached our camp.

After trecking whole day everyone got tired and we took rest and were cracking jokes among us.

The next morning we got to another mountain for trecking it also had a temple on its top and a picture spot. While returning fast winds started and after sometime it started raining heavily and some ice was also falling along with it which hit hard to us. We rushed to the camp and took cover in canteen shelter and waited for the rain to stop.

Next day we went to explore Shimla. We went to the most popular streets and places. And at night we divided in 2 pairs, we did bhangra and the other group built a human pyramid. Next day we did training and then we advanced back to Lucknow.
