My Planet, My Place

My Place, Earth is a resplendent, unique, and a special planet full of exciting breath-taking places glowing with the evolution of life to spread beauty, bliss, and cheerfulness. With unity and diversity between countries, the people of Earth enjoy all motherly blessings. Mother Earth speaks to us through the fragrance of every flower. The bluebird carries the sky on its back. The seas sparkle with love and the stars twinkle with giggles. The moon Goddess blesses us while Mother Earth is busy fulfilling all our wishes. The trees protect us from danger and at the same time, the animals bring harmony to our life by balancing the ecosystem. We, the children of Mother Earth take pride in our planet and promise to take care of her with some love and kindness. Many of us also showcase the same pledge to take care of our planet but in reality, we are continuously & endlessly engaged in our own created technological and fantasy world.

 

In fact, ecological imbalance due to urbanization and industrialization introduced many unwanted results leading to global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, endangered species, and destruction of green nature. Gradually plants are shedding, flowers are dying leading to loss of biodiversity, but we all simply dependent on Mother Earth, each and every moment annihilating earth. I clearly anticipate that one-day mother earth will be devastated because of us. 

 

Other children of my age group like Greta Thunberg are fighting hard to save Earth. I am just eleven, and I am saddened to hear disturbing news such as pollution, smog, rivers running dirty or dry. Earth weeps and weeps and soon the earth will not provide us anything and then it will be our turn to weep. One of my dear friends faces asthma because of the polluted air and another one has eye allergy and still, we are waiting, yet to understand the importance of this beautiful grant. We children also want glorious living and contentment like our ancestors while we see our future to be doomed.

 

Out of many causes, we all heard that plastic is responsible for creating all havoc around us and should be BANNED. I still wonder was it a boon or a bane in inventing plastic? On the other hand to show sustainability we have started using a lot of paper which means more trees are being cut down every day. The solution is that we should inculcate the habit of reuse, reduce, and recycle which will minimize the burden on Mother Earth. The key to change is baby steps and small changes in us will help to achieve bigger targets. We also want to live with prosperity, euphoria, and ecstasy. Earth is everything for us, and we should be grateful for whatever we have.

 

There is always a ray of hope and with that, there are many ways through which earth can be bountiful and prosperous like before. The first thing is to understand that the eco-friendly ways of using sustainable sources of energy and apply them in our daily life than to volunteer in clean-up camps as action speaks more than words. We should also edify people and tell them the consequences of demolishing Mother Earth and ways to conserve resources like water as only 3.5% of water available is fit for drinking and farming. Strict measures to be placed for segregation of degradable and non-degradable waste. We should shop for things prudently like LED bulbs so that we do not need to buy it again and again. Whenever we cut a tree, we should plant at least 5 more trees to pay the price of cutting one tree. We can carpool wherever possible and use a bicycle to travel fewer distances. The list is big, but we need to have the right mindset to implement them in our life. 

 

I love my Earth and want it to be happy. I want my Earth to be clean and green, safe, and sound. As a responsible citizen, I too have the accountability and commitment towards my Mother Earth and I promise to reduce my own carbon footprint via all possible solutions to protect my planet, my place from all dangers, and create a better new healthy living.
