Not A Bot

After a boring, lockdown period, we all friends had gathered, to one of the friend's place. Soon, the party began and eventually we all ended up playing games.

The hot favorite, 'Truth and Dare', was on the cards. After few rounds of truth, my friend forced me to take dare. I was bit hesitant, but then they left me no choice.

Finally, I, surrendered. My friend told me not to worry as it's a simple task. He opened his laptop and told me to type "thank you" into Google search bar. I felt bit weird to do it, but then I thought, whatsoever, it's a pretty easy task. I smiled internally, thinking how foolish my friend is.

As challenged, I typed "thank you" and was just about to close window, Google responded "you're welcome". Now, it was bit surprising for me. As I have used Google several times but never ever had seen such response.

Within seconds, one more message appeared with my name, asking me how was I? Now, I was getting nervous. I looked at my friend's face and everyone had same expression of being confused.

I wrote I was fine, and then Google showed a complete list of answers which I gave initially while selecting truth, and showed message "I know much more than this. I know all your secrets and deed. Beware!"

Now, my state of mind was under fear. The heartbeats started throbbing and was under perspiration and then....

Suddenly, all my friends burst into laughter. I was not able to understand, what's happening? 

My friend than told me it, was a small prank. Actually, his son had made a dummy Google site which looked ditto as Google but was not on web. All those messages were preconfigured to play a prank with me.

Finally, it was a sigh of relief for me but I learned one thing no matter however pure and true you are, when someone unknown threats you, you always develop a fear.
