Human conduct has shifted post-COVID, particularly after the second wave. Families are now willing to spend money on themselves and their children. This is evident in the waiting period for personal vehicles, which spans from 3 to 6 months. Almost all passenger manufacturers provide the wait time. My CFO and I were debating these lines last week, during the company's formal flight. I also learned that a specific model of M&M had a 15-month waiting list, despite most cancellations being in the single digits.

Oh my gosh! I said CFO continued, this is not all, and specified a real-life example from her recent experience.

She lives in Thane, in an upmarket Hiranandani society. Because they live in a posh neighborhood, their children's upbringing differs greatly from that of the average middle-class family. Residents celebrated their birthdays twice a year, at six months and one year. Because they were usually in the same class, invitations to birthday parties were common.

Her son would unintentionally miss the six-month celebrations but would undoubtedly attend the original one. Her kid would spend the entire evening after the celebrations to tell whom all attended and what other friends bought as Birthday gifts. This, coupled with the return gifts he had gathered, was just a topic of conversation.

It was my CFO's turn to celebrate her son's birthday. Her son would methodically organize who should be invited, the theme, and the location. She had specifically planned Pizza toast along with Cakes and other delicacies for his last birthday, which occurred a few months ago. This time, around 18 people came to their house to celebrate their birthday. She and her husband took the time to decorate according to the motif picked by their son.

She had severed Natural's beverages on a sweltering Saturday afternoon. But much to her chagrin, the majority of the kids demanded Pepsi or Coke. Her spouse soon obtained the same item from the nearby Kirana store.

After about an hour, she asked if they wanted another tiny round of Pizza toast, and they unanimously agreed. The hitch was that this time they wanted a real pizza, not homemade, as well as some burgers. A few Kids said, Aunty, we only eat Pizza Hut’s pizzas and McDonald's hamburgers, not Subway or Burger King.

She and her spouse exchanged glances before ordering pizza and hamburgers from Pizza Hut and McDonald's. They also made certain to provide them with their preferred Pizzas and Burgers.

After hearing the story, it was my turn to contemplate. The situation on the ground is continuously changing; we as parents must just practice vigilance in order to remain relevant in society.
