SHUBH YATRA

During the Mahabharata Period a close ally of Kauravas, named Raja Ratiraj used to live with his wife & daughter, His daughter named Priyamvada was known throughout because of her beauty.

It was during a journey that her procession got attacked by dacoits but mesmerized by her beauty the leader let go the procession without causing any harm. While leaving, her eyes, kept staring at the leader as a gesture of thankfulness. The princess ordered each of her dasi’s not to utter a word to Maharaja regarding the dacoity attempt. Maharaja Ratiraj was known to be an immensely cruel king.

The Dacoit Leader couldn’t forget the princess and all the time he used to dream of the face off. One night he dared & reached the palace, by dodging the guards, somehow he managed to sneak through the princess room. But to his surprise, it seemed that the princess was waiting for him, as she stated,

Mujhe pata tha tum zaroor aayoge, magar itna waqt kyun laga diya….

The Dacoit Bowed & asked the princess to marry him, he told that he would leave the life of a dacoit & would go to a different kingdom & start afresh. The Princess agreed but feared that if Maharaja came to know, he wouldn’t spare any of them. They planned to escape. To cross into another kingdom, they must cross a waterfall and the path was too dangerous.

On the day, the dacoit was waiting on his horse near the waterfall. After a long wait, the dacoit saw the princess running towards him, he smelled danger.

She was shouting, Tum Us paar chale Jao, Us paar Chale Jao, Yeh Log tumhe maar dalenge.

The dacoit was adamant but he won’t leave without his princess, but the princess kept on pleading.

The dacoit crossed the lanky bridge and was waiting for the princess. He saw the princess running towards him on the bridge, but wait, few yards away, what he saw, made him shout a cry of anguish.

He saw the Maharaja, ordering the soldiers to demolish the bridge. Before he could react, one side of the bridge got torn & came tumbling down. The princess shouted the name NANDA before she got lost in the gushing waves of the waterfall. Nanda could only hear the merciless laughter of the king.

Without any second thought, the Dacoit galloped on his horse & wanted to jump in the river but in the last moment, the horse budged, Nanda felt a strong jerk & in the very next moment, he was falling down. He kept staring at the eyes of the Horse…The Horse whined as if it was laughing…

 

Scene shifts to 2019, a busy street in Kolkata and a swanky Car Showroom managed by a man named BALBIR. He is afraid of Driving as he feels, the car would throw him out while he is driving. (The Dacoit Nanda).A middle-class girl named Priya, National Level Swimmer who is practicing hard to represent the country in the next Asian games (The Princess). Her Coach, Rituraj who has a bad name for being snobbish & extremely partial towards the more affluent candidates. (The King)
