Suffocating Silence

Arohi stared at her mobile awaiting response to the last 15 messages she sent to Raj. The blue ticks indicated that he had read them all but chose not to answer. It was this indifference that compelled Arohi to remember when did this communication actually die?

Partners for the last 15 years, they were always the centre of attraction at all gatherings. A couple doused in eternal love and open communication. Endless hours on phone throughout the night added to their passion towards each other.

When did her messages become an irritating factor for him, when did she become so unwanted? Lost in these thoughts she got busy with preparing dinner but like most nights he came back sloshed just before midnight. Somehow the messages he never answered triggered his urge for intoxication today or else he would have been sober!

A new day a new reason but as always Arohi was accused to be the culprit for all his miseries, yet again she was termed as a negative influence in his life. Another sleepless night where she was belittled as a liability that he had to forcefully render, all this because she tried to communicate!
