SUMMER
SUMMER
As the spring says adieu, summer begins to send its feel. Slowly spreading its tentacles, sending signals that it is on the prowl. That is be ready for those, phew, so hot etc. exclamation .
With in no time the summer attacks with a growl, and people run to be in the shade if they are out . Or into the house.
No more afternoons on the terrace or gardens. Only early mornings or evenings are preferred. Sending invitations to mosquitoes, flies, and . cockroaches. Their friends too are welcome.
Only we mammals and birds are not welcome. If you risk, and act smart, then be ready for sunstroke, and sunburn.
On the contrary there are our saviors, too, on the road side, pavements, selling bottled cold drinks, sugar cane juice, ice creams, kulfis and so many summer treats . which we love to devour.
In our childhood, we would wait for the arrival of these hawkers,
. It would be a delight. Pestering our moms for these food items.
So for these reasons the summers were welcome.
Mangoes are other reasons why Summers were loved.
And youth and kids wanting to soak themselves in water for hours was another reason, ogling beauties around.
Of course Schools organizing
Summer camps, treks would be fun. All evening out door activities are favoured. No extra baggage of clothes, easy on the air luggage, was
a relief to the travelers. Only the poor labourers working out in the scorching heat are
seen on the roads.
Hats off to them.
Anyway, summers have
their own benefits. Bouts of cold and fever, runny nose
take a back seat. And the doctors are deprived of their fees, their cuts.
Fashion pundits make
more money by shortening
the length and breadth of apparels, and increasing the cost. The shorter the dress,
more expensive it is.
Somehow I love summers, for the days are long,
listen to the cuckoo song, the peacocks dance,.
Little ones prance,
Life's beauty enhances.
Hail O' ! Summer!
