The Adventures Of Futureland

Tik-tok Tik-tok rang the alarm at 7 o’clock. I quickly took a shower and got ready for school. The moment I opened the door I saw my friend Rahul standing in front of me. For around one minute both of us were staring at each other.

“Are you not coming to school Rahul?” I asked. “You are not even ready”, I added.

“Schooool!” Exclaimed Rahul.

“Are you still in your dreams, today is Sunday.”

Oooh! Yes….

Rahul asked me to come with him to show one of the greatest invention by his grandpa.

I quickly changed my clothes and went along with Rahul. He took me to a house which was as big as a palace. I asked him, “ Where have you brought me, this is not your house. I have never seen this house before.”

“This is my grandpas workplace”, he said.

When I entered the house which looked like a palace. It had a long passage way going towards the hall, then there was a big lamp hanging at the centre of the ceiling. On both the sides of the hall there were staircase in a circular form.

He took me to one of the room upstairs. When I entered the room, I was shocked and stood still for two minutes with my mouth wide open.

The room looked like a science lab.

At the centre there was a big round and transparent machine. The machine had a monitor inside and some colourful buttons – red, blue, yellow and green.

I asked Rahul about the machine and he said it is a Time Machine that his grandfather invented.

“You know we can go 30 years ahead of time with the help of this machine. Come, let’s try.” Rahul said.

I was a little hesitant but he assured that his grandpa made such a setting that will bring them back to this world.

“Come Let’s go” Rahul said. I started thinking, but then sat in the Time Machine and within minutes we reached to an unknown land.

I opened the door, “Hey look at that signboard it reads as FUTURELAND. “Rahul look at the cars, they are flying in the air.” I said. We started walking and were looking at the new technological advancement that took place in these 30 years.

All of a sudden I heard a women shouting stop him thief…., thief….., and we ran behind him, we were running for about 15 minutes and then he climbed one of the building, where I followed him upstairs, and reached the terrace. Here all the cars were parked systematically as it was a parking area.

Suddenly Rahul came and he saw that thief and ran to catch him but again he chased us, but finally we got hold of him and handed him over to the police.

“It was a tiring day”, said Rahul.

“It was indeed a tiring day. Let’s go and search for a place to rest tonight”, I said.

After searching for the shelter for a long time a kind lady offered us a help. She sent us to her guest house to stay overnight.

We were tired and so as soon as we lay on the bed we fell asleep.

In the morning when I woke up Rahul was not there besides me. I went out to check, but he was nowhere to be found. When I tried to go and ask someone, there was no one around and that made me suspicious.

I started searching for my friend everywhere myself. Finally I saw him running behind someone.

I shouted Rahul…., Rahul…., but it seemed he was not able to hear me as he was at a distance. After running for a while I was able to talk to him.

“Where are you going Rahul, I m calling you from quite some time.” I asked.

“Sssshhhhhh……”

“Come with me, I will tell you”, Rahul said.

He further continued……

“In the morning I was thirsty, so I went out to drink water and I saw some aliens putting the people forcefully in the van.”

“Oh, I thought you were in Danger”, I said

“No, no, no, I am not but the people are in danger.” Rahul said.

“Oh then, what should we do.” I asked, wondering what can be done now.

“So here is the plan”, Rahul said:

“When I ran behind them, I saw their hide out. From that place I also brought two guns, so we can save the people. Come Taikhum, let’s save them.”

“Let’s go”, I said and we started our mission to save the people of Futureland.

We started moving towards the place that Rahul had seen the aliens. Suddenly, the aliens started shooting at us. We also started shooting from our end. There were few rounds of firing for quite some time and then came their boss and shot Rahul on his leg.

I was really angry at him that my friend was injured and so I started firing at his boss. Finally I saw one large TNT near him. So Rahul engaged him with the firing and I went and quickly took the wire, tied it around the boss legs and the boss fell down. He started firing at me, but I quickly ran away from him and exploded the TNT after which he died.

Later, we released all the people and one of the doctor of Futureland removed the bullet from Rahul’s leg.

Then we sat in the Time Machine to go back from Futureland to the present time. But….

Rahul said he didn’t know how to go back and in excitement forgot to ask his grandpa. I was scared, What will happen now, my mom is not even aware that I am with you, here. I started sweating and started panicking and I was continuously asking him as to what will happen…..

In the meanwhile I heard my mother’s voice and told Rahul that “we have reached, Rahul we have reached I can hear my mom’s voice.”

Really excited I started repeating, “We have reached, We have reached….”

“Where on this earth have you reached Taikhum, are you still in your dreams” my mom asked, Wake up it’s time for school.

Suddenly I woke up and started laughing, to realise it was just a dream.
