I feel disgusting when I compare my older days with these days. A feeling of contentment

chills my spine when a glimpse of my older days comes in my mind whereas a feeling of

melancholy covers up my mind while philosophising these days. Yesterday I was sitting with

my old friend sipping up a cup of tea from my chalice when we had a long conversation on

this topic. I was just to take a long sip of the tea when he asked that if I remembered the

occurrence which happened the day just before the sports day.

On that day my friend had hurt  his leg from a fall in a pit and his father had gone to the town for some toil, so I was asked to  bring him some medicine from the nearby city. I slipped onto the seat of my bicycle and  pedalled down the stone paved road out of the village. It was the season of melancholy and  the whole parish was covered with a deep layer of snow I rode my bike through the forest as  fast as I could because avalanches were common in our region. I was whistling and riding my  bike in gratification but it was over soon.,

Suddenly a hare came in front of me and due to  sudden apply of brakes I bumped onto the snow covered ground. It was not one but the whole  forest creatures were running about as a huge layer of snow rolled down the mountain and that was not good for me. Although I had chains tied around the wheels of my cycle for better grip, I felt that the speed was not enough for me to escape the avalanche. I pedalled with my full force and slowly I was becoming successful in the attempt but more snow rolled down the mountain which made me feel really embarrassed. The raging snow was coming closer and closer to me with all the trees submerged in the white snow. A big boulder appeared in front of me and all the snow got stopped from the heavy entity. I was feeling happy from inside but it was just the peacefulness before the real trouble.

I jumped out of my cycle to check what happened above the mountain but avail, more snow poured out pushing the boulder straight on me. Before I could understand anything I bumped onto my bike and pedalling hard, I got crashed into a tree resulting in bleeding of my nose. Luckily the boulder passed from the other side but the snow poured over me.

When I opened my eyes I was in a log house with a bucket of hot water kept on my side. There stood a man with a crooked nose and long robes looking like a witch. He told me that he was a shepherd and was living here since his childhood. I was feeling quite good in the shelter where I had a hot cup of soup which made feel much better. The old man tied a bandage on my hands as they were badly hurt when I got bumped into the tree. Next day I got up, thanked the old man and resolute to go to the town and bring the medicine but my bike was totally broken and was of no use now. I had to cover the whole way on foot.

When I reached the metropolis I got to the chemist’s shop and handing a hundred rupee note

took some pills and a bottle of pink liquid. When I reached my parish tired of walking the

whole route down, I got tamely thanked by my friend.

After sipping down the whole tea I smiled at my friend and trotted towards my home

humming a tune.
