The Blueness

The Blueness

The colour blue reminds us of so many things, the furious oceans, the endless skies, the bold ink, the tropical kingfishers. Did you know that blue is also a feeling? How do you feel when you score low grades in your examination? When that happens, don’t you feel like just sitting sadly in a corner of your room? I know, it is a terrible feeling. It's called feeling blue. It makes us feel pathetically helpless. Sometimes, we want something so badly that we start a ‘non-corporation movement’ against our parents!! That’s completely fine!

When we feel blue, people around ask us, “Don’t be sad”. They tell us to be optimistic. I feel sad when I don’t get what I want when I face failure, and also when I get scolded. To brighten up my mood, I set an easy task for the day, when I complete it, I feel confident and happy. When nothing seems to work, I listen to music, it clears my mind, and it always works. I think, if we don’t experience sadness, the word ‘happiness’ will be empty. According to me, it is okay to feel blue. Sometimes, we just have to remind ourselves that today was just a bad day. Not every day is going to be a good day. That’s just the way it is!

Although it is impossible to keep smiling forever, no one likes to be around a sad person either. Instead of being a drama, be sad alone in your room, shed some tears, and clear your mind. Throw yourself a little pity party. Despite all this, always keep in mind that feeling blue is okay but it won’t get you anywhere. If you want something, you have to work for it. Do all the crying and drama one night. In the morning, radiantly smile like nothing ever happened and work for the thing you want. Feeling blue is fine, letting it steal away your colours is not fine.
