The Chase

It was 6 o'clock in the evening. Mahesh was driving back home from work when two teenagers began to follow him on a bike. At first, he thought that it was just a coincidence that they were on the same road and were just minding their own business, but every time Mahesh took a turn they too did the same. Mahesh now knew that something was up and began thinking about what to do. Mahesh took some sharp turns but then too the teenagers did not stop following him. 

Mahesh had been driving to the city from his hometown where he had been staying at a relative's house. The road on which he was driving looked deserted and his car and the bike were the only vehicles on that route. The teenagers now started honking signaling him to stop the vehicle. The bike was now even closer to the vehicle and Mahesh started having thoughts about what was going to happen when they caught up to him. 

Just as he was thinking about this, his car sputtered and came to a stop. The teenagers were right behind him and stopped their bikes right behind his car. Both of them got off the bike and were coming towards Mahesh. One of them had a bag with him and this scared Mahesh even more as he thought it would be a bomb. Mahesh thought of running away but his body was frozen due to fear and he could not move. Mahesh could not see their face as they were wearing helmets. One of the teenagers came up to his window and knocked on the glass telling him to lower the window. He did what they asked him and they gave him the bag, telling him that he forgot his used clothes at the house. On hearing this he realized that the teenagers following him were his relative's sons and were following him to return his bag. Mahesh gave out a sigh of relief and laughed at himself.
