Anu woke up early on a sunny Saturday morning. She and her friends planned to spend the weekend in a suburban frontier in the outskirts of Mumbai. She got ready and her mother drove her to the frontier. She met up with her friends and they started playing a leisurely game of ball. A cow and its calf watched them with interest. Anu’s friends went inside the hut they were staying in for a glass of lemonade. Anu followed them, but suddenly she felt a gust of wind blow-by. She looked back. There was complete chaos and a fierce wind was blowing everywhere. The cow gave a sudden moan. It slipped to the ground and started getting stressed. Anu went up to it. The cow was in labor! “Oh no!,” Anu cried. “I should get it to a safe place for it to give birth.”

Just then, a bus came to the frontier. People started bringing boxes and getting inside the bus. A man was piling up the boxes into the back of the bus. “Anu!” yelled Anu’s mother. “Come to the bus! The windstorm is quite strong!” “No,” she replied. “I have to get this cow and its calf to a safe space. The cow is in labor.” She led the moaning, weak cow along with its calf to a shed near her hut. The cow settled down and Anu brought it some water to drink. The animals would be safe now.
