The Dragon’s Cave

Long time ago, there were two kingdoms bordered by a river. One kingdom was of the humans and the other was of the magical beings. They were at war. Fairies, Ogres, Goblins, Elves, Giants etc. were fighting against the human king’s army.

Once at night the king sent a spy to see what they were planning for the fight. When the spy was there, he was spotted by a fairy. The fairy alerted everybody, there was panic in the kingdom. The spy ran as quickly as he could and spotted a cave where he hid. When all creatures were gone, he investigated the cave and saw it was a tunnel so he went into it. He felt something moved but he could not see anything there so, he moved on. Suddenly a pile of heavy rocks fell and the entrance was blocked. When the creatures outside heard something falling, they came and got to know that the spy had gone into the cave of the dragons and the witch. They thought by now the spy was dead, but still he was alive. Now he was starting to feel hungry, thirsty and tired, but he was very curious and scared so, he decided to move on.

For 2 hours he was in the tunnel and didn’t find a way out. Then, he saw a light and ran towards it. But as he came close to the light, he saw it was not the exit but fire of many dragons. There on the floor he saw skeletons of many shapes and sizes. He had nowhere to go but then he saw the exit after the flames which was about 1 km afar which he couldn’t jump. But he decided to jump. He fell into the pit of fire breathing dragons and survived as it was not that deep. He hid behind a rock and saw something unbelievable. A human was controlling all the dragons. He walked towards the man and called him out. He replied kindly and firmly “who are you?”. The spy said, “I am John and I am lost in this cave; can you help me?”. The man replied “I will help you. But only those can pass who have a good reason.” John said “OK, just get me to the exit. I have a good reason. I want to go to my family and enjoy the rest of my life with them.”

The man said, “You shall pass.” John said, “Thank You!” The man commanded one of his dragons to fly John to the exit. John asked him why he didn’t want to be out of the cave. The man replied he couldn’t as he was cursed by an evil witch and the curse was irreversible. But there was a way to free him. The witch who gave the curse could only reverse it. John set out to look for the witch. The man gave him a map and said, “Take this map maybe it will lead to the witch.” As soon as John left the man turned into the witch that tricked John into looking for her. She said after an evil crackle “Now he will be my dinner.”

When John came out, he started following the map which again led to the same cave. He was confused but still he went in. This time he went in tiptoeing and saw the witch was the man who fooled him into being her food. He thought to fool her. So, made a loud noise by throwing a rock and the witch transformed into the man. He said,” Sorry! I could not help you as the map got burnt so, I should go.” As John went out a large blast happened because while talking, he secretly planted a bomb in the cave. Now its exit was also sealed and the witch was trapped inside the cave.
