The Merchant and the Servant

Once there lived a rich merchant named John. He lived in a big mansion and had a lot of servants working for him. He was a good and happy man. He always helped the people in need. He was a little busy man and was always in a hurry. Each of the servants was assigned a specific task like gardening, cleaning, cooking, laundry, butlers and etc. Like these, a servant was assigned the job of going to the market to buy the things asked by the merchant. His name was Tim. He was a little absent-minded man. He used to do only the things said by the merchant. For example, if the merchant asked him to bring apples he would bring it in his hands. Only if the merchant told him to take a bag he would bring the apples in a bag. One day he called Tim and asked him to go to the market to buy some vegetables for dinner. He asked Tim to take a bag and go. The next day he again called Tim and asked him to go and buy some fruits for a salad. He said him to "take a bag and go". On the third day again, Tim was asked to buy cakes for the guests and was told to "take a bag and go".

This repeated for many days. The merchant would call Tim, ask him to buy something and say "take a bag and go". One day he asked Tim to buy ghee. In haste and in a routine he again said Tim to "take a bag and go". So Tim went to the market and bought the ghee in the bag and came back to the mansion. But on his way back, the ghee had dripped along the path and now there was nothing in the bag. Alas! The merchant had nothing and the ghee was wasted because of his haste.

Moral: haste makes waste. Be careful with the words you use.
